iCloud Mail on Windows 8 setting up - how to

We will show you how to set up with the correct settings quickly and easily to your iCloud-Mail under Windows 8.

Precondition: The settings of iCloud-Mail

Before the facility can begin, we will show you in advance the correct iCloud-Mail-settings you need.
  • Account type: IMAP
  • User name: "mustermann@me.com" - note that you must enter your entire e-Mail address.
  • Incoming mail server: imap.mail.me.com - requires SSL Port: 993
  • Outgoing mail server: smtp.mail.me.com - no SSL - Port: 587 - but "outgoing server requires authentication"

Setting up of iCloud email in Windows 8 Mail App

  1. You open your Mail App on your "Windows 8"Computer. At the first Start you have to add in the bottom left of the possibility of new accounts.
  2. Select show "All in the settings". Then you will see the sorts of accounts on the right side.
  3. You need to select Another account to your iCloud-Mail to set up account.
  4. Enter your user name with "@me.com" and password, then click "More Details" and enter the above settings.
  5. With the button "Connect" confirm the device and establish a connection.
