Error "Bootmgr is compressed" - so you have to fix the Problem
- For Troubleshooting, you need an original Windows DVD. The Version of the disk is not important.
- Insert the DVD and restart the PC.
- From the DVD to boot, you must have the Boot order in the BIOS to change. In our guide you can read how to do this.
- If you have set the correct order, the message "Windows Installation will be started". If you have a Windows XP disk, you will need to confirm this with a press of a button.
- After you have landed in the main menu, go to the "system recovery options". Open the "startup repair" and run a search.
- The program automatically searches for problems in the System and fixes them automatically.
- If you disk have XP, you need to open the "recovery console". Enter the following commands, so that you can fix the errors and the PC re-use: "attrib -c c:\bootmgr" as well as "attrib -c c:\ntldr". Confirm each entry with [Enter].
- Finally, you can set the Boot order back and restart the PC.
