Backup and restore: What is it actually?
- "Backup and restore" provides a Backup for your personal data. Here you can set whether and how you want to regularly back up your own files. It was on an external hard drive, another internal hard drive or even on the USB-Stick. With a corresponding configuration it is also possible to burn the files to CDs. With a Backup Plan Windows takes care of automatically to the Backups.
- But not only for your own files, Windows provides a Backup Feature. It also features certain parts of your system can back up. This is especially handy if you have to rely on the correct functioning of your system. If you ever got a Problem with a virus or a Defect in your hard drive, the System on the status of restore from Backup. Also, you can decide whether you would prefer to make a one-time or regular Backups.
- If you are backing up for the first Time your entire Windows System, it will take some time. In subsequent Backups, the Backup will be matched data and updated so that the process works much faster.

If you want to restore your data from a Backup, connect your Backup media and select the appropriate Backup.

- Set up a Backup Plan. Alternatively, you can make the Backups manually.
- At this point you are done and Windows will make the first backup.
