In the search bar of Opera scoured the Internet by default, with Google. You can remove the search engine but also and a other service. We will show you how to do it.
Google from the search bar of Opera remove
If you type in Opera a word in the address/search bar, the Browser automatically Google as a service. You can influence this behaviour directly with a letter in front of your input: Write, for example, a "b" before your entry, use Opera Bing instead of Google.
You want to use the search engine in your search bar, you can remove Google completely in settings.
Open the Opera settings menu by pressing the key combination [Ctrl] + [F12].
Under the tab "search", select "Google" and then click on "Delete" (see Screenshot).
Opera then uses the next item in the list, if you are using no shortcuts.
Opera search behaviour
We will show you how to set up Opera even more to your Liking. The next practical tip explains how to use it in the Opera Plugins to remove.
I don't want to see Google at all in my face ever. So you really haven't answered the question.

Wrong answer. Google is the biggest pest in the world. A parasite. I won't use Opera anymore because it won't allow me to GOOGLE!

I agree I am tired of goooogle in my face every time I start opera. Looking for a replacement. May have to go back to mozelllla or vivaldi but goo has to go.

The Inclusion of the Google (A Known Parasite) in Opera is a real disappointment and a reason to not use Opera!

I agree with the previous comments, I switched to Opera because it is fast loading. However a google search bar smack in the middle of my screen is offensive. I hate google they are parasites.

GET GOOGLE out of my face. It is annoying. I realize this is totally UNREALISTIC to carry out this request, but when you personalize settings in a browser you're not actually PERSONAL-IZING. You are personalizing based on their protocol, and GOOGLE probably (i write probably) is in cahoots with them.

Opera is a good browser, but locking Google as the default search engine, unless you use the address bar, sent me straight back to Firefox. I have zero interaction with Google on my devices. Opera need to rethink if they want us to migrate............

It seems that the good people at Opera have sold their birthright for the proverbial mess of pottage. What a shame.
