To reach the Log-Files, you do not need to open a certain path with the Explorer:
  • With OpenVPN, you can open the Log Files with only two to three clicks. To do this, click in the taskbar click the up arrow and then right click on the OpenVPN icon (see Screenshot).
  • Via the button "View Log" you can open the Log file of the current connection directly. Alternatively, you can find the records of all of the Connections manually using the following path: "C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\log".
  • In the default configuration of OpenVPN in Linux distributions, see the Output from OpenVPN in the system log. This is depending on the Linux-derivative, for example, "/var/log/messages or/var/log/syslog". You can search the log for keywords such as "VPN" in order to get the desired rows.
  • The latter works, for example, simply using the "grep" command in the Terminal: "grep VPN /var/log/syslog".
