Zeros in OpenOffice display: Basic setting
This manual applies to OpenOffice for MacOS X. the Windows Version of OpenOffice, the menu can vary.
- Open the "settings" -> "OpenOffice Calc" -> "view" and check the Checkbox "zero values" is checked (see image).
- In the Windows Version, you first open the spreadsheet and go "tools" in the "settings". Then select "OpenOffice Calc" and "view" and check the Checkbox next to "zero values"
- If no check mark is set next to "zero values", click on the corresponding Checkbox, and then click "OK".

Would you like to perform with the figures and calculations must be formatted the fields as Numbers.
- Click with the right mouse button in the relevant cell and select "format cells". You want to format multiple cells, highlight them first.
- Click in the "category" Option to "number".
- Under "options" in addition to "Leading zeros" the desired number of fixed zeros, to appear before the numerical value.
- Confirm the Change with the "OK"Button.
- When you enter the leading zeros, taking into account the numerical value entered will be automatically used.
- Example: Enter the digit 4 as the desired number of zeros you get for the value 2 => 0002, and for the value of 234 => 0234.
