A timeline, you can in OpenOffice Draw, and then, in OpenOffice Writer, insert:
  1. Open a new page in OpenOffice Draw.
  2. Then click the arrow Button and draw a long arrow from left to right in the document.

  4. First insert a line on the timeline and then copy it with the key combination [Ctrl] + [C].
