From color to Black-and-White with Gimp
- You open a photo in the image editing Software Gimp.
- Click on the "color" menu and select "Desaturate...".
- It is a small window where you can change the grey Gradation according to brightness, luminance or the average value opens. It is recommended to include all three modes in the preview to try out.
- If you only want to have individual parts of the image in black-and-white, you need to select this before: Press [F], and circle the desired area before you Desaturate the area.
