In this practical tip we will explain how you can hide files in Ubuntu. With a keyboard shortcuts, you can show the invisible files again later:

  1. Click with the right mouse button on the file you want to hide.
  2. In the opened menu, select "Rename".
  3. In front of the name of the file it is now possible to set a point and save the Change with [Enter].
  4. Now the folder is highlighted still. Now press simultaneously the keys [Ctrl] + [H].
  5. The file is now hidden. Repeat the first three steps with all the data that you want to hide. With the same key combination you can hide your files again.
