Step 1: Avira as Administrator
Start Avira not as an Administrator, the Tool has no rights to the log file in the programs folder to save. Run the program as Admin:
- To do this, locate the Desktop Icon of Avira or the corresponding shortcut in the folder "C:\Program Files\Avira".
- Click with the right mouse button on the shortcut and select the Option "run As Administrator".
- Run the Scan again.
Step 2: Create the Avira log file disable
You can easily do without the log, you can preserve this step before Re-Installation.
- Click the toolbar, double-click the Avira Icon in the system tray, so that the program opens.
- At the top of the menu bar, select "tools" and select "configuration".
- Under the category of "PC security" you will find the "System Scanner" and the corresponding "Report".
- You can deactivate the Create a report and save the changes with "OK". Perform the Scan again.
Step 3: Avira AntiVir uninstall
Has led up to now, nothing to success, you will need to De - and subsequent Re-Installation of Avira. You should note, however, a lot, so the error occurs.
- You can download first the latest Version of Avira download. This you can always find us in the CHIP-the download area.
- Open the control panel and click under "programs" on "uninstall a program".
- You "Avira Free Antivirus" from the list and click on the Button "Uninstall".
- Then, the uninstall program will start. Click "Next" and select the Option "remove program".
- Then click "Yes" and "Continue", the program is stopped and uninstalled.
- The process is completed, you will be asked if you want to restart your Computer. Confirm the query with "Yes".
- You want to be on the safe side, you should disconnect from the Internet now, because your PC is unprotected. Make the connection again, if Avira is installed again.
Step 4: remove Remnants of Avira
Because the Problem may be deeper in the program, we will remove all Remnants of Avira:
- Download the Avira RegCleaner download and run the.EXE file.
- Click on the Button "Keys read" and wait a brief Moment until the search is completed.
- Then put the hook in front of "select All" and click the "Delete"Button.
- You start the Computer again.
Step 5: Avira AntiVir re-install
- So Avira is now installed with write permissions, run the installation file with Administrator Rights. To do this, click (as in step 1) with the right mouse button on the Setup file and select "run As Administrator".
- Follow the installation instructions. After the program is re-enabled, should be solved the Problem permanently.
