CD-Songs as FLAC files - so it goes

You want to experience unadulterated music enjoyment on the go, you can save the Songs of your CD's as FLAC files. How to extract the songs into FLAC Format and save to your hard drive, we will explain in this practical tip.

Music CD with Foobar2000 to FLAC Format and convert

The detailed steps can you find in the image gallery.
  1. Download the programs Foobar2000 and Flac , download and install it on your Computer.
  2. Start Foobar2000 and load the Audio CD.
  3. Click in Foobar2000 at the top right on the tab "File" and select "Open audio CD...".
  4. A new window will open. Select the "Rip" button.
  5. Select the Tracks you want to extract from the CD to your hard drive.
  6. You have selected the Songs, click under "Actions" on the button "Proceed to the Converter Setup dialog".
  7. It is a new window with the name "Converter Setup" appears. Here you can select the Option "Output format".
  8. Select "FLAC" and click on "Back".
  9. Now you can click "Convert" and choose a location to save your Songs to be extracted.
  10. Finally, select the path in the "flac.exe" is. By default, this is the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\FLAC\flac.exe".
  11. Now your Tracks as FLAC files are stored and you can use this for example with the VLC media player to play.
