Luca app: transfer data to a new cell phone - this is how it works

If you use the Luca app on your smartphone, you can use it to check in or out at various events or in restaurants to simplify contact tracing in the event of corona cases. But can you take and keep your data when you move to a new phone?

• You cannot transfer your history to a new smartphone.
• The Luca app does not have an import or export option.
• Creating a backup is also not possible.
• Instead, you need to download and set up the Luca app on your new smartphone again.
• You can insert the same contact details or deposit your vaccination certificate again.

So you cannot transfer your personal data from your old smartphone to your new one. Instead, you must enter them again.

• When setting up on your new phone, make sure you enter your new number and not your old phone number by mistake.
• You should continue to use your old number if possible, but at least for the first two weeks after moving to the new phone. This makes sense, since the health department wants to contact you via your old cell phone in the event of contact.
• If you also use your old number on the new smartphone, you dont have to worry as much about this point.
