Under the shutter speed in photography is the exposure time. This is regulated by the camera shutter and can be caused mechanically as well as electronically produced. One distinguishes between short and long shutter speeds.
- Automatically: With the term "Auto" refers to automatic exposure. This is set in your camera, so the shutter speed is adjusted automatically. All you have to do and can concentrate fully on the Photograph.
- Long-term: do you Want to shoot the photos with a long shutter speed, so you need to set the designation "B" (also known as "Bulb") or "M" (manual). As long as you press the shutter button, the shutter of your camera opens.
- Short time: you can set the shutter speed too short and thus cause the opposite of the long-time-variant. For this you need the "X"setting on your camera. It is called the flash sync time.
