Word: Copied Text with a grey background - what to do?

It is a free text that is saved to the easy color. Follow these steps, in order to liberate the Text from its background color.
  1. Select the Text and click with the right mouse button.
  2. There is a context menu where you can change the color of the background will appear (see Screenshot).
  3. Here you can select "No color".

Shading of the copied text, remove

You have copied a Text from a table, the colored background of the table shading. An HTML table is not always recognizable as such - try this step if you do not assume that the Text comes from a table.
  1. Select again the grey Text.
  2. Now go to the tab "design" and click on "shading". Note: MS Office 2010 or older you must click with the right mouse button on the selected Text and "borders and shading" option. There, you can remove the color of the shading.
  3. Select "No color".

Copied Text in Word on a gray background: clear formatting

Your Text is stored is still colored, you can delete all of the formatting. In doing so, you remove but also bold Points, underlining and other structuring of the text.
  1. Highlight the affected text.
  2. Click in the top tool bar on "All formatting delete". How the icon looks like, see the screen shot.
