Word: Sigma sign on the toolbar the insert table
You want to insert the Sigma character only in exceptional cases, you can go the more cumbersome route via the string table:
- Click in the menu bar, click "Insert".
- Click under "symbols" to "Symbol" and then "More symbols".
- Select the Subset "Greek and Coptic".
- Click in the table on the large or the small Sigma symbol and then on "Insert".

Word: Sigma-characters with a key combination to add
If you need the Sigma-characters more often, a combination of keys:
- Enter the numbers 2211, a follow-up "" at the point in the document where you need the Sigma.
- Press the key combination [Alt] + [C]. The numbers will then follow, to a large Sigma.
