Outlook: WAB.DLL is not found - what to do?

The error "WAB.DLL not found" occurs mostly using Outlook 2000 on Windows 7. We will show you in this practice tip on how you solve the Problem.

The error arises because the file-systems over the years have changed and Windows to other places for the file searches. With a little Trick, the error can, however, deal with it.
  1. Open the Windows Explorer using the key combination Windows key+E.
  2. Open your hard drive (usually "C:") and click successively on the "Program Files" folder and "Common Files".
  3. Here you will find the files "wab32.dll and wab32res.dll". You will have to copy both of these files.
  4. You go back to the Overview of your hard disk and open the folder "Windows" and then "System32".
  5. Paste the two files here again. You may need to confirm a security query.
