Limiting a search to a folder
Often the Search is on strike-only if you browse all the data. Therefore, it helps, for example, if you select one of your E-Mail Accounts already, or only a specific folder (e.g. Sent items) viewing can. If this does not work, try a restart of the program.

If you want to restart Outlook, make sure that you have closed the program. Sometimes the Outlook Icon is hidden in the task bar and remains open in the Background. You are looking for, therefore, once again, the bar (incl. the "hidden" Icons) and check whether Outlook is really closed.

You should be able to, in spite of the restart of the search is still not to use, you should close the Task or process "Outlook":
- To do this, hold Ctrl+Alt+Del is pressed. In Windows 7 and Windows Vista, you must select the Option "start task Manager".

- Select on the left side of "Browse".
- Click "indexing options...".
- Here, Microsoft Outlook should be included "" with. If this is not the case for you, click on "Change".
- Now you can put in the new window, check the box next to "Microsoft Outlook".
- Confirm with "OK".
- To create the Index now, click on "Advanced" and select in the new window "create a New one".
- Complete the process with a click on "OK". Now a new Index is created (this may take some time).
