Old Word files will not open - possible solutions
Since there can be many reasons why Word will not open old files, we suggest you to first solutions of problems about the Office settings, via an Add-in or Trust Center and Microsoft Fix. After that, Workarounds consequences of converters with alternative Office applications and PDF:
- Open Microsoft Word and navigate in the menu to "file" -> "options" and click on "Trust Center".
- Click on "settings for the Trust Center..." -> "Add-Ins" and remove all the hooks.
