In this practical tip we will explain how to create a LibreOffice Calc in a Pivot table.

Step 1: create a spreadsheet and Pivot table in Libre Office to create

You create in LibreOffice first, a regular table. You can write the data into the appropriate columns (sh. Screenshot).
  1. Click on a cell in the table and select in the menu bar "data".
  2. In the open menu, you now go on "Pivot table" to "Create".
  3. It is the "select source"window opens. Here you leave the selected Option "Current selection". Libre Office recognizes their associated data automatically.
  4. Confirm via "OK".

Step 2: Pivot tables-Layout, define

After that, the Dialog "Pivot table Layout" opens. In this case, proceed as follows.
  1. The Pivot table is initially empty. You will see your available fields in the left display.
  2. You can now assign the fields to the desired areas. It works by highlighting the field and then in the respective section of the draw.
  3. In the data fields, usually numeric data to be evaluated. It is, therefore, in the above example, the field "price" is to be classified.
  4. If you then click "Sum of price" under "data fields", click, you can choose a different function.
  5. Note that you can enable under "settings" and other options on or off. Here, for example, "blank lines can be ignored" or "categories".
  6. Confirm via "OK" the creation of the Pivot table.

Step 3: evaluation of the Pivot table

Your file will now be automatically added to another spreadsheet. There you will find the Pivot table that you just created.
  1. If you click above the table to "all", you can take certain data from your table. At this point, is now, by the way, according to the "page field".
  2. In the example presented here was specified when it was created in step two as the page field of the "camp". You can now about all of the products from the warehouse in Munich, Germany.
