How the Junk Email Filter in Outlook
- The Junk e-mail Filter does not prevent the taking of Spam e-Mails, it moves them to a separate folder, and thus, so to speak, in quarantine. Since these messages may contain in the worst case, viruses, attachments are usually blocked.
- The Filter is enabled in Outlook by default. This is set to "low", but can be changed. How this is achieved, read the next paragraph.
- Especially if the security level of "high" is set, it can lead to miscalculations by Outlook. Therefore, check regularly the e-Mails in the Junk-Email folder. An email falsely should land in this folder, you can drag'n'drop into the Inbox.

To configure the Filter, you must enter its settings. This can be done in different Outlook versions in the following Ways:
- Outlook 2010 and 2013: Open up the "startup" tab. Select in the group "Delete" and "Junk E-Mail" and click on the "Junk E-Mail options"
- Outlook 2007 and 2003: Click on the menu item "tools" and select "options". Now you can see the very top of the Button to the "Junk E-Mail".

Junk Mail Filter is set correctly
- Here, you can now switch between the individual tabs back and forth. Among other things, any sender can be there as a sure mark or block.
- Under the options you can set up the security level. With the first four options, you can disable the Junk e-mail Filter, the sensitivity to "Low" or "High", or (if you want to be on the safe side) only E-Mails of the persons that you have already marked as safe (see image).
- Finally, click on the "OK" Button to apply the Changes.
