Excel: changing the language - so it goes

In Microsoft Excel, you can change the default language in German and English. For another language you must download a Language Interface Pack and install it. As you change the language in Excel, we will show you in this practical tip.

Language in Microsoft Office Excel set

  1. Open Microsoft Excel and click top left on "file".
  2. In the context menu, switch to the tab "options". A new window will appear.
  3. On the right edge, click on the item "language".
  4. Under "display and help languages, select" you can specify either "English" or "German" as default language.
  5. After a restart of Excel, the new language is set.
  6. You want to use a different language, you need to first of all, from the website of Microsoft Support, the appropriate Language Pack download. You will find under the tab "Links to free Downloads of user interface language packs".
  7. After you have downloaded the language pack and installed, you can activate the language by repeating the above steps.
