OS X Mavericks: the date and time configuring manually

Under Mac OS X Mavericks, you can configure the date and time manually and automatic time setting for your Region clear. In addition, there are other tools - for example, a text-to-speech function for the time. In our practice tip, you will learn how it all works.

  1. Open the system preferences from the Dock.
  2. Then click on "date & time".
  3. Now you will see the menu for the date and time display. You can also click on the lock icon at the bottom left and enter your Administrator password to make Changes.
  4. If you want to disable the automatic configuration for the time and date, remove you set the check mark next to "date and time automatically" (see image). Then you can enter the time of day, by clicking on the arrow buttons next to the time. The date change by clicking on the respective month or day. Then, choose "Setting".
  5. Under the tab "time zone" select whether the time zone should be set based on your location automatically.
  6. For other settings, such as the automatic time clock or options for the date display, to Read it click on the tab "PM".
