Files under OS X Mavericks compress
Under Mavericks a function for the compression of files is immediately available. You can use these to create Zip archives and to provide for more storage space on your hard drive.
- Navigate to the desired folder or file to be compressed.
- Then click with the right mouse button on the file to open the context menu. Multiple files you can compress at the same time. In this practice tip , you will learn how to right-click on your Macbook Touchpad to activate.
- In the context menu, then select the item "compress" (See image). Now a compressed file with the extension will be ".zip" created on your Mac.
- If you want to decompress the file, simply right-click on the respective file.
