To compress PDF files on your Mac, you don't need to additional Tools access. Apple's operating system has the necessary tools directly on Board.

If you have large PDF-send files via e-Mail, to Download want to deploy or archive, you should compress them first. On the Mac this is easy with the application "preview" that you find in your "applications"folder.
  • You can open the PDF file you want to compress with the program "preview".
  • Click the "file" menu "Export...".
  • Select in the dialog box on the "Quartz Filter"Drop-Down menu, select "Reduce File Size".
  • After you have given your PDF file a name and location for them to be fixed, click on "Save". The compressed PDF document is now saved as a new file on your drive.
