You can assign your Mac a fixed IP address. Exactly how this works, we can tell you in this practical tip.

Fixed IP address on the Mac to assign them so it works

  1. First, open the "system preferences" on your Mac.
  2. There you go then, in the section "network" > "configure IPv4". Check this first, check "This network with the same IPv4 device always address assign".
  3. Set the options to "Manual" and enter, then the IP address in the respective field.
  4. Save the Changes with "OK". You can also leave this field empty, the Mac is automatically assigned a fixed IP.
