You want to photos from Apple Mail in iPhoto import, you must proceed as follows:
- Open "Mail".
- Look for the Email with the images and open them.
- Click to the right of the Annex on "Save" and then on "To iPhoto add".

If you are "not using email", you can import your photos in iPhoto:
- Start your Email program, e.g. Thunderbird.
- Look for the Email with the images and open them.
- Save the photo on your Mac by clicking on it and select the Option "Save as..." option.
- Then select "iPhoto", select "file" and then "In the import to library...".
- Locate the desired image and click the Import Button.
