Who has, for example, with the basic structure of the Internet or networks, quickly encounters the term DNS. We explain to you what it does.

What is the meaning of DNS and what is it for?

  • Would you like a Website like chip.de with your Browser open, so enter the address in the corresponding field. To find the site, but actually, the Browser needs the IP address. In this case, the DNS helps.
