What is the meaning of DNS and what is it for?
- Would you like a Website like chip.de with your Browser open, so enter the address in the corresponding field. To find the site, but actually, the Browser needs the IP address. In this case, the DNS helps.
- The Domain Name System, or DNS, is a System in which Internet addresses or computer names into IP-converts addresses and Vice versa.
- You type in your Browser now chip.de so a request for the IP address is sent to the DNS Server. This is in the case of private persons, mostly when related to the Internet Provider. The DNS Server then gives the IP address.
- A DNS should not find Server even have a name or an IP address, the other DNS Server queries. Around the world there are numerous DNS servers which are all networked with each other and each other Changes.
- The DNS is therefore responsible and necessary that we can access via the Internet-addresses or IP-addresses on the Websites.
