Websites you can achieve nowadays by either the IP address or Domain enter the name in the address line of the browser. For the website Google you can enter "173.194.70.94" or "www.google.de". The Domain can be divided into three parts.
  1. First-Level Domain: the suffix is referred to, so: .de, .com, .to, .uk and so on.
  2. Second Level Domain: this part of the Domain, you know which page you are visiting. This is usually the Name of the Institution or of the company. Second Level Domains are google.de for example, facebook.com, chip.de.
  3. Third Level Domain: Third-Level Domains or Subdomains to enable website operators to a separation of categories. This is particularly useful if the website contains a lot of information. An example of this praxistipps.chip.de is.
