WD My Cloud via the Web Interface shutting down
- Go to the Web Interface of your WD My Cloud and log in.
- Right click on the last Icon in the blue bar, and select "shutdown" (see image).. not this menu item on your My Cloud is available, please follow the instructions in the next paragraph.

- Log-in to the Web interface of your WD My Cloud.
- By clicking in the horizontal bar at the top, until you get to the point "settings". Select this.
- Now, press the bar on the left, to the point of "utility" and scroll down to the entry "device maintenance".
- Click on "shut down" and confirm the process.

WD My Cloud via SSH off
To use this option, you have to have on your WD My Cloud SSH enabled have. In addition, you will need a SSH Client such as PuTTY.
- Log in via SSH to your WD My Cloud. Regardless of the registered users on your WD My Cloud to the default User "root". The password you need to select the SSH enabled on your My Cloud even.
- Type in the command "shutdown" and send it. Now, turn off your WD My Cloud.

So you switch on your WD My Cloud again
- Your WD My Cloud supports Wake-On-LAN, so the Switch via a LAN connection. Therefore, you can bring your NAS with a WOL-command back to life.
- But you can also cut short the power supply to start your WD My Cloud again. This is because the hard drives are switched off and therefore no damage can occur.
