What is the meaning of Tethering?
- When Tethering you can use the Internet connection of your smartphone to the PC or Tablet. So you surf there, where your Computer is no LAN or Wi-Fi available, your phone has network.
- The Smartphone acts as a Modem, and receives, as usual, the mobile data. However, these are not required, as otherwise the phone itself, but from the Computer.
- The connection between the phone and PC can be established via a USB cable as well as via Bluetooth. In addition, you can use your iPhone as a Wi-Fi Hotspot set up and the data transferred.
- Most of the current Smartphones are suitable for Tethering. Prepaid plans do not allow Tethering i. d. R. however, it is best should you have a mobile phone contract with data flat rate.
