XBOX One: Official Spotify App available
For the XBOX One App is now available for the PS4 an official Spotify available:
- This you can free of charge in the XBOX Store, download.
- The App is free and you only need a Spotify Account. Here, both the Free and the Premium version works.
- The music you can hear this when Playing games in the Background with ease. Practically can control the playback with your phone via Spotify Connect.

Alternatively: Spotify Streaming to the XBOX via the PC
As there was no official Spotify App for the XBOX One yet, went to the Streaming only via detours. To do this, they needed the additional program Jamcast. For the service, you pay a one-time license fee in the amount of 14.99 dollars. Or you can test first 14 days free of charge.
- Make sure that Jamcast and Spotify installed on your PC and work.
- Start the XBOX and the game you want to play. After the Download open the XBOX menu and navigate to the Media Tab. There, click on "Select Music".
- Now you have to "(your Computer): Spotify!" see. Select this item and click on the "Saved Playlist". In the Playlist folder, click on "Virtual Soundcart" and "Play all". How to stream Spotify to XBOX.
- The Streaming doesn't work right away, it may be due to the Firewall. This would require you to switch off briefly and both Jamcast and the XBOX to restart.
