Explanation: The behind SETI@home
SETI stands for "Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence", which is English for "search for extra terrestrial intelligence". The project deals, among other things, in order to scan the radio range of the electromagnetic spectrum for signals of extraterrestrial civilizations.
