The old WEP encryption using your Router for your wifi, you should turn on the WPA Standard. We will show you how to do it.

WPA encryption in the Router to enable

The following guide is based on all the routers. The display of the options, however, differs in each model. To the right in the picture you can see the solution for the Fritzbox.
  • You can open the user interface of your router. This can often be using the IP address "192.168.1.1" call.
  • Are you looking for in the menu according to the settings for your Wi-Fi, and options such as "security" or "encryption".
  • From there you can select the "WPA encryption".
  • Now, you can often decide whether you only want to use WPA or WPA2, or both Standards should be supported. WPA2 is much more secure, however, it may be that older Wi-Fi-enabled devices can only use the WPA Standard. We therefore recommend the Option to choose "WPA + WPA2".
  • Enter your Wi-Fi password and click on "Apply", "OK", or "Save".
