Three easily explained – the technology behind it
The Count of three can be illustrated with the following example:
- You drive the car a distance of 10 kilometers in length and use 9 litres of petrol.
- You are now driving a distance of 20 kilometers in length, they consume 18 litres of petrol.
- The distance is doubled, the fuel consumption is doubled.
- The rule of three is always used in sentences like "the more, the merrier". In our example: "The more you drive, the more gasoline is consumed".
- You need to fill in a table according to a certain scheme. You have understood the Schema once, you should be able to apply this to other tasks.

- We stay with our example: In the first column of the table is a 10-KM" and in the cell next to the "9L "is", since the car, as described above, 9 gallons of gasoline are consumed in 10 kilometers.
- You now need to calculate how much fuel per kilometre is consumed.
- To do this, divide the number in the top right (9) by the number in the top left (here 10). As a value of 0.9 to obtain the fuel consumption in liters for a distance of one kilometre in length.
- If you want to calculate the consumption of a stretch of 20 kilometers in length, do so: you can expect just 20 0.9 – consumption for a mile. To 20 km so you will need 18 litres of Fuel.
