Passwords from the Browser to read

You have forgotten a password, you can read in any Browser of your saved passwords. We will show you how this works under Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Internet Explorer.

Google Chrome Saved passwords read

  1. Click the top right of the Browser on the menu Button. Consisting of three vertically arranged cross-strokes.
  2. Select below in the menu point "settings". The settings open in a new Tab.
  3. Scroll down the page to the bottom and click on "Advanced". Other settings will open.
  4. Scroll down a bit until you have arrived at the category "passwords and forms". Here, click on "manage passwords".
  5. You will now see a list with all websites, on which you have already logged in with an ID. To do this, you not only see the Login name but also the password.
  6. To view the password, click on the eye icon, and enter to confirm the password for your Windows user.

The Microsoft Edge: passwords from the Browser to read

Note: In Microsoft Edge the passwords while managing, but not reading. The following instructions also work for Internet Explorer.
  1. Open the control panel and select the "user accounts".
  2. In the "credential Manager" you can now find all of your saved passwords.
  3. Select the desired website and click next to "password", "Unhide".
  4. Then enter your Windows password, the Login password of the web page.

Internet Explorer: passwords from the Browser to read

In Internet Explorer you can't read out all the passwords using the instructions above. You need an extra Tool:
  1. Download the program IE Asterisk Password Uncover free download.
  2. Open the Tool and click at the top left on the green Play Button.
  3. Start Internet Explorer and open the web page you need your log-in data.
  4. As soon as the page is loaded, the program displays both the user name and the password.

Mozilla Firefox Saved passwords to read

  1. Start Firefox and select the top right of the menu "settings".
  2. Go to the tab "privacy & security" and right click on the Button "Stored login data".
  3. Select the Option to "show passwords", you will get to any stored Login the desired data is displayed.
