VPN - what is it and how does it work?
The abbreviation VPN stands for "Virtual Private Network" (virtual private network). Through a VPN connection, you can surf anonymously on the net:
- Install a VPN Software on their computer or Smartphone, you can use from now on, an encrypted IP connection from the VPN provider. This connection is encrypted so that governmental agencies or hackers can gain no access. Also your ISP can not track your surfing behaviour.
- If you connect via a VPN Software with a us IP address and Shopping websites, believe of the Shop owner, that customers from the USA shopping with you. This allows you to surf anonymously on the Web.
- The advantage of VPN connection, however, is not only from the lack of transparency in the network. Equally important is the location of the Server from the VPN provider. Most Software offers multiple locations, so that a user receives for example a Russian or American identity. Thus, among other things, sites you can visit are blocked for German users due to legal reasons.
