The more obstacles you mount when you Log in to your account, the safer it is. In the case of the Two-factor authentication in Dropbox you have in addition to the usual Log-In data, a further safety aspect.

Two-factor authentication for the Dropbox setup

Similar to Twitter, Dropbox offers also the possibility of the security code via SMS or App to send.
  1. First, go to the Dropbox Website and log in.
  2. Click to the right of your name in the Drop-Down menu to "settings" and go to the new window, click the menu item "security".
  3. Click on "two-step Verification" on Enabling and follow the steps. You can choose between the App and the phone number.
  4. First, you can specify your Primary phone number. This you can confirm this via SMS sent to Code.
  5. On request, you can specify a second number in case of emergency, to continue to access your account.
  6. Finally you will receive a random recovery code that allows you to authenticate without Two factors.
