"Computer says no" is a popular saying on the Internet. What is behind the network trend, we will explain in this practical tip.

Origin of "Computer says no"

  • The saying comes from the British Sketch Show "Little Britain" by Matt Lucas and David Walliams.
  • In Germany, the series is broadcast on Comedy Central, and since 2016 is also on the TV channel eins festival.
  • Between 2003 and 2006 in 3 seasons with a total of 26 episodes were produced, each 30 minutes in length.
  • The shipments are short sketches, the reports on day-to-day eccentricities of the British. The figures are oversubscribed for this is strong.
  • The characters often come from marginalised social groups.

"Computer says no!"

  • This quote comes from Carol Beer. This, in turn, works in a Bank, a travel office or a hospital.
  • Characteristic for her is that she always seems annoyed by your Job and your customers as well as very apathetic and mentally not present.
  • Thus, a never goes directly to the questions of your customers. She does so, as you would find in your Computer the answer seems to be (allegedly) in General, no solution.
  • Then she explains to the customer the short, annoyed-monotone response: "Computer says no."

Other popular quotes from Little Britain
