IP address of disguise through proxy server
Once you start a Download with your Bittorrent Client, the program transfers its IP address to the other Clients. You want to prevent this, you need to switch an interface on the network between the proxy server. There are two types.
- A transparent proxy does not show your IP-address, with transfers, however hidden. This can be with special programs to read.
- Anonymous Server send only the obfuscated addresses.

Our advice relates to the Client, µTorrent. After you start the program, open the settings.
- Under "Connections" you will find the settings for the proxy server.
- When the "type" select "HTTP". Search the Internet for an anonymous proxy server (a simple Google search will provide useful results), and enter the appropriate IP address in the box in µTorrent. The Numbers behind the colon, describe the Port you will also need to enter.
- Confirm the settings by clicking "OK".
Proxy Settings
The anonymous proxy servers generally have a short "lifespan". Therefore, you will need to the settings on a regular basis and renew the check. Please note that you may µTorrent or Bittorrent make use only to the Sharing of legal files.
In our tip we used a PC with Win 7 and the Software µTorrent. In the case of other programs it can result in different approach.
