What Firewire have to offer you?
In this section, we proceed to the advantages and disadvantages of Firewire:
- Firewire interfaces have a high data throughput rate, so you work very quickly. For example, in the case of external hard drives this is a big advantage.
- Firewire can now be up to 800 Mbit per second.
- In contrast to USB 2.0, a bi-directional data transfer with Firewire is possible, this means you can send and receive simultaneously.
- Unfortunately, not all devices have a Firewire interface. The interface is not placed on the market really.
- In addition, a Firewire hard drive often costs more than a usual USB hard drive.
