What Firewire have to offer you?

In this section, we proceed to the advantages and disadvantages of Firewire:

  • Firewire interfaces have a high data throughput rate, so you work very quickly. For example, in the case of external hard drives this is a big advantage.
  • Firewire can now be up to 800 Mbit per second.
  • In contrast to USB 2.0, a bi-directional data transfer with Firewire is possible, this means you can send and receive simultaneously.
