PCM - what is it?

The abbreviation PCM stands for Pulse Code Modulation.

  • It is a specific pulse modulation method.
  • Often the PCM is an uncompressed data format is understood.
  • Through the PCM process, an analog Signal is converted into a digital Signal.
  • In this case a time arises from the time-continuous signal discrete signal sequence.
