The second screen is not detected, and the Defect on the cable check
Please check first whether the cable is faulty, your Monitor to the computer is connected.
- Connect your Monitor to your computer with a different cable, if you have a second monitor cable.
- The screen now works, it is possible that the other cable is defective.
- The screen does not work, however, still the Problem is likely the Video-input of your computer or to an incorrect system setting.
Computer detects 2. Screen: Inactive or defective Video input
If your second Monitor has different connections, you should check if you can connect it to via HDMI instead of VGA. Even if this is not the case, you can try the other inputs on your computer.
- Many computers have inputs for multiple Video: VGA, DVI, HDMI, and Displayport are the most common. Try all the inputs, for which you have the corresponding cable.
- Also you can find computers in most cases, several inputs of the same type. You have connected, for example, your second screen via VGA, you will find quite possibly an additional VGA port to your Computer. Connect the cable to the alternate port, and check whether the screen is detected.
- You'll see an image, is probably disabled your Onboard graphics card, which is why they only bring about additional graphics card, a picture on the Monitor.
- On the photo you can see one such case: the right connections are the graphics card (marked in red), while the left-hand connections go to the motherboard. Since the Onboard graphics card is disabled by default, you will get with such a device only on the graphic card ports, a image.

Not detected screen in the system settings
A further possibility is that you have disconnected the Monitor in the system settings of your computer. Follow these steps to connect a separate Monitor:
- Click with the right mouse button on the Desktop and select "screen resolution".
- If your computer receives a Signal from the screen, you will see this in the display (see Screenshot).
- Click on the separate Monitor, and select the menu item "display extend".
