Synology in the network - so it goes

To be able to your NAS from Synology and use set up, you have to find it first in the network. Here we show you how to do this.

Synology provides you with a wizard, of your NAS System in the network.
  • Turn on your Synology NAS.
  • Open your web browser and enter http://find.synology.com a.
  • The wizard searches your network. This may take several minutes.
  • Once the network storage is found, you can click on "connection" on your NAS device login.

In rare cases, the wizard does not find it. Synology offers as a result of Software to Download. Proceed as follows:
  • Click on the "Synology Assistant" and select in the Download center for your device type and model.
  • Download the latest Version of the Software "Synology Assistant" and the NAS-OS "DiskStation Manager" down.
  • Install in the next step, the "Synology Assistant" and start the Software.
  • The program will now find your device and prompt you to install the operating system.
  • Click on "Browse" and navigate to the folder where you have the "DiskStation Manager" is stored. You can open the. PAT file.
  • Then click "Next" and then follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Once the Installation is complete, click in the Browser again http://find.synology.com on. The NAS System is now found and you can proceed with the setup using the "Connect" to continue.
