Sound card install - the note

If you are installing a new sound card in your Computer, you should consider some things. We will show you how to use the Hardware properly, and to function effectively.

Sound card to install properly: how to

To Install you only need a medium sized Phillips screwdriver. But caution: make sure the screwdriver touches only the screws, and no parts of the computer. Even the smallest scratch on the Motherboard can lead to serious damage.
  1. Disconnect the Computer from the power and Unscrew the housing. Put the small screws in a place you will find this again.
  2. You are looking for a free PCI Slot. These are elongated, white, plastic strip, in which the graphics card is plugged in. These are located on the Mainboard in the direction of the rear side of the housing.
  3. Is even installed an old sound card, it should be for the time being, removed. The detect it if in a PCI Slot a card with colored outputs for speaker, microphone, and co. plugged in. Unscrew the two screws with which the card is attached to the housing and gently pull the card from the PCI Slot.
  4. You now get the sound card out of the packaging. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Under certain circumstances, before a panel needs to be removed to the rear of the housing. Insert the sound card gently into an available PCI Slot. If possible, you should choose a Slot that is as far as possible from other components to be removed. Is inserted directly next to the graphics card, and can circulate the air as well, which has a poorer cooling.
  5. Now you can fix the sound card with the two screws. The housing can now be closed again.
  6. Restart your Computer and install the driver for the sound card. You can find this either on the manufacturer's Website or on the enclosed CD.
  7. Previously the On-Board graphic chip installed, so you can turn it off either through the BIOS or just the driver for this uninstall. To do this, press simultaneously the keys "Windows" and "R", type "devmgmt.msc" and click "OK". In device Manager you can uninstall now, under the item "Audio-, Video - and game controller" the required driver by right-clicking (see image).
