You are not sure whether your PC has a sound card, you can test this quite easily. We will tell you how.

Is installed on my PC a sound card?

Everyone already assembled Computer has a sound card. This is as elementary as a USB or Internet connection. Only this music can be via internal or external speaker output.
  • Only who has rigged his PC or a used one bought, may have no sound card in the Computer.
  • You will find on your PC or Laptop, in a hole, in the you can in your headphones and microphone plug in, so you have a sound card. These holes are usually dyed green, and pink. This is typically 3.5 mm Jack connections.
  • To see if a sound card is installed, simultaneously press the Windows key and "R". Type devmgmt in the newly opened window".msc" and click "OK". It is the device Manager, where you will find the item "sound, Video and game controllers" to open. Under this you will see the installed sound card (see image).
  • Should really be no sound card available, this can be a module retrofitted.
  • A sound card is not working, it may be due to outdated drivers. To do this, open as described above, in the device Manager and right-click on the sound card. There you will find the option "update driver software".
