Incompatible HP-print cartridge - what to do?
Note: The Problem may also be displayed, if you have original HP-use cartridges.
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the device from the power. Turn it on again after 30 seconds and try again to print something.
- This does not help, clean the contacts on the cartridges. For this purpose, a micro-fiber cloth is best. A more thorough cleaning with distilled water and a cotton swab. Also, the cartridge contacts in the printer, you should clean carefully.
- In the next paragraph you will find a little Trick that solves the Problem in many cases. Also nothing helps the cartridge is usually broken.

Note: The following instructions do not works with all HP printers and cartridges.
- Place the cartridge in front, so that you can see the contacts and the label is on the head.
- You will now see six rows with Golden contacts. Tape the top contact in the second row from the left with a bit of tape.
- Insert the cartridge again and print a test page. Remove the cartridge, stick in addition to the lower contact in the third row from the left and print again a test page.
- Take out the cartridge from the printer and remove the two adhesive strips. You should now be able to re-print as usual.
- In order for your printer to print even after rebooting, gluing the first adhesive strip over the contact. The cartridge is not recognized correctly, you can print them.
