Staxel with friends: Must I create a own Server?
A dedicated Server has many advantages: for example, you can use various settings to make and the Farming Game to play without Steam logged in to be. You want to play just with your friends, you need to create a own Server - you can join through Steam to a common game.
- Log-in to Steam and start Staxel.
- In the menu of the game click on "Multiplayer".
- Now select the "Play with friends" and choose a save or start a new game.
- Once your world is loaded, you can invite friends. To do this, open the Steam friends list.
- Click on the name of the player you want to invite, in the top right on the small arrow and select the Option "Invite".
Staxel: Dedicated Server hosting
Do you want a private Server for Staxel, you should have the option of a port-forwarding set up. Alternatively, you and your fellow players also use a program like Hamachi to use. The Server is the simplest way to Steam to start:
- Launch Steam and navigate to your game library.
- Click with the right mouse button with Staxel and select in the context menu, select "Dedicated Server".
- You can now make various settings. Leave the Port at the default value 38465. You set according to your needs a password, you are limiting the number of players and rename the Server. Remove the checkmark next to "Attempt automatic UPnP port forwarding" - this function doesn't work for most routers unfortunately. Last you can click on "Test Port" to check whether the Server is working.
- The settings correspond to your Wishes, click on "Start Server" to activate your own Staxel-Server.
- You want to play Staxel, click on "Start Game Client, with Steam".
- You and friends join the Server by your IP , or type in the Server in the public list.
