Ark - Survival Evolved: preparing for your own Server
Before you can loszocken, you need to set up your Server under Windows. For this you need the free Tool "SteamCMD".
- You have to download the program and extract the ZIP file, so you can get access to "steamcmd.exe".
- Start the program and wait until it has downloaded the required Updates. If the Code in "Steam>" appears at the beginning of the line, enter the following commands one by one and replace the individual sections of their data.
- login to your team user name your team the pass word
- force_install_dir C:\SurvivalServer\
- app_update 346110 validate
- Now you will need DirectX and the Visual Studio 2013 Redistributable Package. The Installer are already in your Server folder, you only need to EXE the two files to run, which you can find in the paths "c:\survivalserver_commonredist\directx and c:\survivalserver_commonredist\vredist".

The Ark Server, you set with commands. So you don't have to enter them each time you Start the server again, we will show you how to create a startup script. The necessary commands itself.
- First, create in your Server-folder a text file called "start server.bat" and copy the following Code. Replace "choose a password here" and "CHOOSEANADMINPASSWORDHERE" with your own passwords.

- Note that the Ports need to be opened 27015 and 7777 (UDP & TCP), and not by your Firewall are blocked. Detailed instructions for port forwarding can be found on this page.
- Finally, start the Server by double-clicking on "start server.bat" to run.
