
Light the grill without a grill lighter
An important safety note first: Neither alcohol, gasoline or turpentine are suitable grill lighters.
- The risk of an explosion and therefore serious injuries is very high. In addition, toxic fumes are produced.
- Newspaper is also not a good choice. The ash swirls up when grilling and settles on your grilled food.
- A safe way to light charcoal without a grill lighter is to use egg cartons . Tear them open and place the boxes underneath the charcoal.
- Make sure that enough air gets to the boxes. If you light the egg cartons on fire, they will burn slowly.
