WAP explained: What actually is it?

Nowadays, we are able to reach on Smartphone over LTE with a Download speed of over 100 MBit/s. A few years ago, the Internet was limited to-speed on mobile phones to a few kBit/s. Mobile browsing was not only slow, but also expensive.
  • A solution of the Problem of WAP, brought. The acronym stands for Wireless Application Protocol. With WAP should be optimized first-line sites for mobile phones with small Displays. Due to lower quantities of data, low costs and shorter resulted in wait times.

Wireless Application Protocol: WAP 1.0 to 2.0

  • Thanks to UMTS and EDGE was the mobile Internet much faster. Thus, it makes finally sense to transfer images or even Videos using the WAP 2.0.
